How to set up the URayCoder 4K video encoder streaming converter

By Gabriel ·

Short answer: to configure the URayCoder 4K encoder, set your computer to a manual IP on 192.168.1.x (for example .11 or .12), browse to 192.168.1.168, log in with admin / admin, enable DHCP under Network, then under Main stream paste the YouTube RTMP URL and stream key in one field, click Apply, and reboot. Check Status to see if it connected.

I struggled with this unit, had to read the manual, and later replaced it with a better encoder. You can buy whatever you want — below is the exact path that got me into the web UI and pointed at YouTube.

Step 1: put your PC on the same subnet

The encoder’s default IP is 192.168.1.168. Before you can open that page, your computer must not stay on DHCP if your LAN is a different subnet.

On Windows, Mac, or Linux: open network settings, switch from DHCP to a manual IP, and set something like 192.168.1.11 or 192.168.1.12 — any address on that subnet except .168. Click OK/Accept.

Step 2: log in and enable DHCP on the encoder

Browse to 192.168.1.168 and sign in with admin / admin. Go to Network and change DHCP from disabled to enabled.

That way the box can join your real LAN instead of forcing you to keep a temporary 192.168.1.x address. My own network is 10.0.0.x, so enabling DHCP made daily use much easier after the first login.

Step 3: Main stream RTMP for YouTube

Open Main stream. The UI is not intuitive compared with products like the Teradek Vidiu Pro. Under the RTMP field you must type the full YouTube ingest URL (the rtmp://… host YouTube shows in Stream settings) plus a slash and your stream key in the same box.

Click Apply, reboot the device, then open Status to see whether it connected. There is no clear start/stop streaming button like you get on SoTech or Teradek units — another reason this feels primitive.

Multi-channel limits vs better encoders

On a proper encoder you flip a toggle per channel and can stream to two destinations at once with separate profiles. On the URayCoder I could not find that workflow. You might try enabling a sub stream as a second profile, but again you push Apply / reboot and hope Status looks right.

If you are struggling, I would return it and get something else. I replaced this unit with a better one after testing.

Support: WhatsApp was no help

URay Technology lists WhatsApp support. I messaged them as a customer asking where the start/stop streaming control is. They replied with a generic “hi, what can I help you” and then never answered the actual question. No useful tech support.

So if something else breaks, you are mostly on your own. Use the steps above to get RTMP working, or move to an encoder with a clearer UI and responsive support.

Frequently asked questions

What is the default IP of the URayCoder 4K encoder?

192.168.1.168. Set your computer to a manual IP like 192.168.1.11 or .12 first, then open that address in a browser.

What is the default login?

Username admin and password admin.

How do I point it at YouTube?

In Main stream, put the full YouTube RTMP URL and your stream key in the same RTMP field (URL/key), click Apply, reboot, and check Status.

Should I keep this encoder?

It can stream after the steps above, but the UI is primitive and WhatsApp support did not help. I returned it and moved to a better unit; if you are stuck, returning is reasonable.
