What is my IP

See your public IP address (IPv4 or IPv6) instantly, plus your browser, operating system, screen and language.

Your public IP address

Checking…

Version: –. This is the IP our server sees for your connection (with a VPN or proxy you'll see theirs).

Your browser and device

These details are read by your own browser and shown only to you; they are not stored.

What is my public IP?

Your public IP address is the one your internet provider assigns to your connection and the one websites you visit see. It's different from the local IP of your PC or phone inside your home (for example 192.168.0.x). Knowing your IP helps when setting up remote access, cameras, servers or firewall rules, or checking whether a VPN is working.

Frequently asked questions

Does my public IP change?

On most home plans the IP is dynamic and can change when you restart the modem or every so often. If you need a static IP, ask your provider.

What's the difference between IPv4 and IPv6?

IPv4 looks like 190.12.34.56 and is nearly exhausted; IPv6 is longer (with colons, for example 2600:…) and is the modern replacement. Many connections use both today.

Do you store my IP?

This tool only shows it; it doesn't store it. Like any web server, the host may keep technical access logs.
